Dr. Gary J. Rosenbaum, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center, is a double board-certified plastic and general surgeon specializing in reconstructive breast surgery in the greater South Florida area. One of the leading breast reconstructive specialists in the state of Florida for over 13 years, Dr. Rosenbaum currently performs implant, as well as DIEP, SGAP, SIEA, and Latissimus flap breast reconstructions. Using cutting-edge surgical techniques, Dr. Rosenbaum provides advanced reconstructive options to those who have had mastectomies, lumpectomies, and previous breast augmentation procedures. Dr. Rosenbaum is a board member of Gilda’s Club, the world’s premier emotional and social support community for patients of cancer, and lectures regularly on the topic internationally.

The reconstructive procedures referred to as DIEP and SGAP flap surgeries are among Dr. Rosenbaum’s most specialized procedures. These advanced techniques involve the use of a woman’s abdominal or upper buttock/hip skin and fat to create a natural looking and feeling breast. Dr. Rosenbaum introduced these surgical techniques to the South Florida area after completing his fellowship at Louisiana State University, where the concepts where developed. Now Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL., his education has subsequently allowed Dr. Rosenbaum to draw on a wealth of knowledge to provide the most suitable option available to a patient seeking top-quality reconstructive breast surgery.
Dr. Rosenbaum completed a surgical fellowship at Louisiana State University, where the DIEP and SGAP flap reconstruction surgery was developed and perfected. He became especially talented in the procedures, later joining the faculty of the university for his mastery of the techniques. Dr. Rosenbaum has now completed over 2,300 reconstructive surgeries in his 13 years of practicing plastic surgery. Currently, Dr. Rosenbaum lectures on and off camera internationally, using his medical experience and vast knowledge of reconstructive surgery to shed light on the subject of breast cancer recovery, with televised appearances including NBC and CBS.
